Lufkin pitcher Alexsandra Flores signed with McNeese State on Wednesday.
The senior has had a phenomenal high school career for the Pack, throwing over 600 strikes in her three years with her fourth season still ahead of her. Last year alone Flores had 230 strikeouts.
It was no surprise to see last year's district MVP collect some offers. Flores was considering Texas State, The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Incarnate Word, Nicholls State as well as several junior colleges.
“What stuck out about McNeese is that they’re really family oriented. That’s what helps me a lot is the well bond that they had and I really love the coaches also,” said Flores.
Flores’ freshmen year she was named second-team all-district followed by a first-team all-district selection her sophomore year. Then her junior year Flores finished with an .40 ERA and earned her title as the district MVP.
The Lufkin senior plans on studying biology at McNeese State, then go to dental school after.
