ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - An arrest warrant has been issued by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office after a man was killed in a shooting Sunday morning.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Annie Mae's on Jackson Road for reports of a shooting at 2:51 a.m.

A victim, Kevin Moore, 37, was taken to Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin in a private vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Moore was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The sheriff's office says that Moore's family has been notified and an autopsy has been ordered.

The community remains in shock, still trying to make sense of the deadly shooting happening just feet from their front yards.

"Scary! Because nothing ever happens in this neighborhood like that," said Vanessa Dominey, who lives across from Annie Mae's.

Neighbors say gun shots from deer hunters in the otherwise quiet community are common, but last night something was different.

"It was closer to my house, closer to home. And it seemed like somebody was shooting back and forth last night," Hart said.

The two neighbors live in homes just a stone's throw from Annie Mae's and they say last night's fatal shooting stripped away their sense of safety.

"Scary! I kind of don't want my kids going out outside," Dominey said.

"Very sad and concerned. It makes me feel like we need more prayer, we need more people to be concerned about one another and it makes me feel like we live in troubled times," Hart said.

Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives are continuing to investigate. They have issued a warrant on the charge of murder for Terry Christopher "Chris" Criswell, a black male, 32 years of age. It is believed that Criswell left the scene of the incident in a vehicle described as a white 2000 model Buick,  possibly bearing the license number GGR-9950.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Angelina County Sheriff's Office at 936-634-3331, or Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers at 639-639-8477 or
