CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - After she was arrested on a public intoxication charge and taken to the Houston County Jail, a 29-year-Crockett woman allegedly went on a rampage and assaulted three jailers on Friday.
Tramika Lasha Scott is still being held at the Houston County Jail on three third-degree assault of a public servant charges and a misdemeanor public intoxication charge.
According to the arrest affidavit East Texas News obtained Monday, Houston County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched out to the county jail in reference to a report of an inmate fighting with jailers.
When the deputies spoke to one of the jailers, she explained that she was in the process of booking Scott into the jail when the woman became "very belligerent" and started "screaming and hollering" that she wasn't suicidal. Scott also refused to let the jailers book her into the jail, the affidavit stated.
One of the jailers then escorted Scott into a holding cell, and she allegedly continued to scream and be uncooperative. Then one of the jailers asked her to take her clothes off, so they could put her in a "suicide blanket" and before putting her in a restraining chair.
Again, Scott refused to obey their orders, the affidavit stated. She allegedly walked out of the open cell and punched one of the jailers in the throat, causing her to lose her breath for 5 to 10 seconds.
At that point, Scott started down the men's hallway of the jail, and she changed direction when one of the jailers tried to block her path. The jailers followed her in an effort to take her back into custody, and she allegedly kept screaming and yelling the whole time.
Eventually, Scott stopped near the end of the visitation hallway and sat down near the wall, still screaming and crying, the affidavit stated. One of the jailers told her to get up and go back to the holding cell, and she allegedly refused.
When one of the jailers tried to put handcuffs on Scott, she started swinging her arms at the jailers in an effort to fight them off, the affidavit stated. During the scuffle, Scott allegedly hit one of the jailers in the right eye, causing scratch marks and breaking his glasses.
Scott elbowed another of the jailers in the right side of his head during the fight, the affidavit stated.
According to the affidavit, the jailers were aware that Scott is a Burke Center patient and that was why they wanted to put her in the suicide blanket and restraining chair.
