Undefeated Alto set to face 10-1 Beckville in area round

ALTO, TX (KTRE) - As we get deeper into the playoffs the games matter just that much more.

The Alto Yellowjackets have made each one their games count as they're 11-0 entering the area round, but they're going to be up for a challenge this week against a Beckville team who has lost just one game this year.

This is going to be a great matchup not only because it's two dominating, winning teams going at each other, but it will be entertaining to see these two heavy run teams clash.

Beckville has averaged 44 points a game, but Alto has bested that stat averaging 51 points a game. The Yellowjackets feel they have been tested in some ways, but recognize this will be their biggest challenge yet.

"This game, someone is going to the house after this one. Unfortunately a real good team is going home after this week. Definitely the biggest game we've played," said Alto head coach Paul Gould. "We got to be ready. We can't make a lot of mistakes and they're a good, good football team. I think it's going to be a heck of a game."

"I expect it to be intense. It's two good teams going head-to-head, both from East Texas with a playoff game in Tyler. I expect a good matchup," said Alto quarterback Keenen Johnson.

Alto and Beckville will meet at Tyler Rose Stadium Friday starting at 7:30 p.m.
