The Crockett Bulldogs have found themselves area round deep into the playoffs and have quite the challenge ahead of them. Next road block to state is Jarrell who has yet to lose a game all year. The Bulldogs are 8-3.
Jarrell may be undefeated but better watch out for Crockett who has caught fire with their four-game win streak and pack a punch offensively.
The Bulldogs average 44 points a game with quarterback Case Robinson's help leading the way. The senior is among the East Texas stat leaders throwing 2,827 yards this year, with a leading 38 passing touchdowns.
“I think we're the best throwing-catching team in the state of Texas right now because we have a bunch of elite receivers. We have a bunch of good running backs that can turn into receivers and catch up field. We got a lot of speed on our team, a lot of good hands and nobody can stop that,” said wide receiver Adarius Watkins.
Crockett's confident they can rise to the occasion and their main concern is keeping an eye on Jarrell's quarterback.
“They're pretty good. We're going to have to have a good week of practice this week to hang with them,” said defensive end Tyler Dowell. “Offensively, they have a really good athlete at the quarterback position. He can hurt a lot of people with his feet so we're going to have to do a good job containing him and really step up to play solid on defense.”
Crockett and Jarrell will meet in Groesbeck Friday night. Game starts at 7:30 p.m.
