NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Ten Thousand Villages is back to Nacogdoches Westminster Presbyterian Church.
The church is miles away from impoverished countries found around the world, but thanks to East Texas shoppers the artisans' livelihood is sustained. All proceeds go to the artists' business.
Debbie Dalton, Market Volunteer-"Because truly we never know what 10,000 Villages is going to send us, so if they had a lot of artisans that made baskets, we may get more baskets that year, so it's a lot of fun to unpack and set everything out and see the joy on people's faces when they come," said Debbie Dalton, a volunteer with the market.
The first day of shopping is over, but 10,000 Villages will start up again tomorrow at nine and continue until one.
The event is at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Nacogdoches.
