LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Livingston Police Department arrested a 26-year-old man Monday in connection to allegations that he punched a man in a wheelchair after an argument over money got physical.
Jason Jermon Gray is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a felony injury to the elderly or disabled charge. No bail has been set at this time.
Lt. Matt Parish with the Livingston Police Department said the alleged assault took place in the 200 block of High Street Monday. Gray started arguing with a man in a wheelchair that owed him $35, and when the argument escalated, Gray punched the man, knocking him out of his wheelchair, Parish said.
At that point, Gray allegedly climbed on top of the victim and started punching him more.
Parish said the victim suffered from redness and swelling.
Gray was arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail.
