LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Commissioners gave the go-ahead to organizers to start planning for the second annual Angelina AirFest.
Director Brian Crews told the court that the event went better than he thought.
"We were poorly under planned and that is a good problem to have," Crews said. "That is a major problem we had at the airshow. This was getting our feet wet. We know what to expect next year."
Crews said the main problem was vendors ran out of product because they expected a small crowd. Crews said Vendors were so pleased with the success that they are already calling to reserve a spot for next year.
Crews said the event brought in over $31,000 in profit.
The commissioners agreed to move forward with the event and said it is possible that they agree to make this an annual event.
