NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl, accepting a 20-year prison sentence Tuesday in Nacogdoches County district court.
Eric Micah Fulton, 29, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of state-jail felony theft.
Fulton was arrested in June after a Nacogdoches police officer learned that the girl had told her relatives that Fulton had been sexually abusing her. A sexual assault exam confirmed her testimony.
"The successful prosecution of this case is due to the bravery of a little girl and her family, and their courage to come forward and report these horrible incidents," said Andrew Jones, a prosecutor with the Nacogdoches County District Attorney's Office. "Additionally, the district attorney's office would not be able to effectively do our jobs as prosecutors without the excellent work of our local law enforcement and the wonderful working relationship we have with them."
