ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Splendora man has died from injuries he suffered in a wreck that occurred Saturday afternoon on US 69 east of Pollok.
Gene Guinlind Teague, 78, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday in a Houston hospital.
According to the DPS report, Teague was driving a 2004 Nissan Sentra southbound on US 69, three miles east of Pollok, at 3:43 p.m. Saturday when he hit a 2007 Ford Edge, driven by Ashley Capps Horta, 29, who had failed to yield the right-of-way and took a left turn in front of Teague.
One of Teague's passengers, Lavon Hopson Teague, 77, of Splendora, is listed in serious condition at a Lufkin hospital. Another of his passengers, Breana Freeman, 13, of Splendora, is listed in stable condition at a Lufkin hospital.
Horta was treated at a Lufkin hospital and has since been released. Horta's passenger, Norah Horta, 2, of Lufkin, was treated and released.
All involved were wearing seatbelts.
