ALTO, TX (KTRE) - Alto ISD schools participated in a "cap day" fundraiser Friday. It was all to benefit the family of two deceased Tenaha parents, Nicole and Porter Perry.
The mother and father were killed in what police believe to be a murder-suicide last Friday. The parents leave behind four children.
Alto ISD made a Facebook post that said, " Alto ISD was recently flooded with love and support from surrounding communities during our time of sorrow."
The district lost former student Cam'ron Matthews in October after he succumbed to injuries received during a football game.
The Alto students paid a dollar to wear hats. Proceeds will go to the Tenaha family. Alto ISD says it was their chance to pay it forward.
Tenaha teachers and residents thanked the district for their support after the tragedy.
