Annual Conclave Wraps Up In Nacogdoches

The annual Conclave in Nacogdoches wrapped up Saturday with log cutting, archery, and cross cut competitions.

A crowd gathered at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center to watch competitors try and 'saw' their way to a victory.  SFA students were among those competing.  Some folks say forestry activities are just as competitive as any other sport, but unfortunately, don't get the recognition they deserve.

Tiffany Byers said, "I think it's a tradition that we shouldn't let die in forestry. The lumberjack sports, not many people do them anymore and I really think that we should keep it going."

This year's Conclave was the 48th anniversary of the event.
