ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Precinct 4 was the first precinct in Angelina County to receive federal aid from FEMA following the spring's historic flooding.
Precinct 4 includes the Diboll and Zavalla areas, which got around $116,000 of flood damage.
The precinct received about 75 percent of that cost from FEMA which was around $87,000.
County Commissioner Bobby Cheshire said he is relieved to have the funds. He said he and his team are ready to get county roads back in good condition.
"I feel very good about this reimbursement, and it's going to go a long ways to helping us get back to a semblance of normal," Cheshire said.
The reimbursement will go towards repairing roads and culverts as well as recovering equipment costs, extra man hours worked, and fuel use.
