CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 21-year-old Joaquin man on Dec. 5 in connection to allegations that he created a fictitious social media account and posed as a woman and contacted underage children in an attempt to get inappropriate photos from them.

Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell said that Dakota Ray Smith was arrested and charged with third-degree felony directing a sexual performance by a child. He was released later that day after he posted a bail amount of $10,000.

Blackwell thanked the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office for its help in the case.
