Affidavit: Center manslaughter suspect points gun at man over Facebook argument

CENTER, TX (KTRE) - A 26-year-old Center man who was already under indictment for manslaughter in connection to an accidental shooting death that occurred in August 2014 was arrested again on Wednesday after he allegedly got into an argument on Facebook, went to a man's place of work, and pointed a gun at him.

Bret Wayne Anderson was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged incident occurred on Nov. 28. On that date, Center Police officers met with the victim. The man told police that after he and Anderson got into an argument on Facebook, Anderson showed up at the other man's place of work, displayed a revolver, and pointed it at him.

The assault by threat was witnessed by the victim's parents, according to the affidavit.

Anderson was indicted on a felony manslaughter charge back in March.

Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell said that his deputies were paged out to the scene of an accidental shooting that occurred at a residence on County Road 1024 on Aug. 30.

Anderson and 21-year-old Taylor Keele were handling a 9 mm pistol when Anderson unintentionally fired the weapon. It struck Keele in the chest.

Keele was transported to a San Augustine hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Anderson was arrested and transported to the Shelby County Jail on a manslaughter charge.

According to Shelby County court records, Anderson's court case is pending. No court date has been set at this time.
