NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

After a domestic violence suspect refused to leave his home Friday morning, Nacogdoches Police Department officers made entry into the house through a window, and the man was taken into custody without any further incident.

According to a press release, NPD officers responded to a 911 call about a domestic violence incident at a home on Austin Hollow Circle at about 11:30 a.m. Friday. While the officers were on their way to the scene, the female victim was able to get out of the home.

When the NPD officers got to the scene, the man refused to answer the door or communicate with police. The officers learned that the man may have access to guns even though no weapon was displayed or used during the domestic violence incident, the press release stated.

NPD officers went into the home after several failed attempts to get him out. The incident was under control by 12:56 p.m.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters from the Nacogdoches Fire Department also assisted in the incident. Memorial Hospital EMS was on standby during the incident.
