Alto quarterback Keenen Johnson has decided he will take his talents to Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane offered Johnson two days ago and he quickly took them up on the offer. Johnson also received offers from SMU, University of Louisiana Lafayette, and Incarnate Word, but also spoke with Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Kansas, Stanford, Memphis, North Texas, Northwestern State, and Army.
Tulsa will be lucky to have the East Texas rushing leader on their side. Despite Johnson’s season ending two weeks ago, he still is ranked at the top with 2,669 yards and 38 touchdowns on 217 carries.
Also playing as a defensive back for Alto, Johnson had more interceptions on defense than he threw as a quarterback. Johnson picked off three passes compared to the two interceptions he had on the year. He also broke up eight tackles, forced three fumbles and made 42 tackles.
