NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches woman died after disregarding a stop sign and pulling into US 59 in Nacogdoches County Tuesday morning.
Veronica Varela, 44, died at the scene, 1.5 miles south of Nacogdoches.
According to the DPS report, Varela was driving a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan at 5:45 a.m. and disregarded a stop sign and got onto US 59 and was struck in the side by a 2006 Toyota Tundra, driven by Jose Fredy Vargas, 40, of Nacogdoches.
Vargas was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital for treatment.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
