The V.A. clinic in Lufkin now has its first wheelchair-accessible van. The state of the art vehicle cost almost $50,000. The van will make transporting patients much easier.
Jeff Davis, patient services assistant, said, "We've had to tell the patients that we are not equipped with a handicapped van at this time and they have to find their own transportation to the Houston V.A. Hospital."
The new van seats up to 14 people. The T.L.L. Temple Foundation made the donation possible.
