HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - Reality is beginning to set in for the couple who lost everything to a house fire on New Year's Day in Hudson.
The Hudson Fire Department responded around 8PM Friday. They say the home was a total loss but the elderly couple inside, both in their 70's, were able to escape.
Now, neighbors are banding together in hopes to receive enough donations to get that couple back on their feet.
"I just really pray that the community can come together and help this family. This is just a tragic thing that's happened to this family. They've lived here for years and I pray for this family everyday," said Michelle Reynolds, a neighbor.
Neighbors say the couple is in need of everything including clothes and shoes. If you would like to help, donations are being accepted at the Clawson Assembly of God church in Pollok.
