Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 25-year-old man on a felony tampering with evidence charge after he allegedly tried to hide a “usable amount” of marijuana from them during a traffic stop on E. Main Street Sunday night.

Jakeevin Marqued Rusk, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony tampering with evidence charge and four misdemeanor traffic charges. No bail amount has been set at this time.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department’s daily activity report, an NPD officer stopped Rusk’s vehicle in the 1500 block of E. Main Street at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. After Rusk allegedly hid a “usable amount” of marijuana from the officer, the officer found the marijuana a short time later.

Rusk was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
