TAMPA, FL (KTRE) - Lufkin native Jorvorskie Lane broke his leg in the Buccaneer's 38-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers Sunday.
The break was gut-wrenching for those who saw it, especially the players who were visibly disturbed by the injury. After the initial shock, players then gathered around Lane as the medical crews spent more than five minutes on Lane before carting him off the field.
Lane broke his leg during a pile up. The fullback was making a block when Lane's teammate, Joe Hawley, fell on his leg.
On Lane's Facebook page he wrote:
"For all my fans... If you know me . This is small. Yes I'm out. 4-5 months I'll be just right. Heart and Determination is something you can't coach. I know what I signed up for. Trust in me. Lane of Hope we are still on schedule this off season. 1 leg or not. Get your butt up and go work kid."
