ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has arrested five people in connection to a forgery ring.

According to a media release, 28-year-old Sarah Cannon, 23-year-old Betty Beshears, 27-year-old Nicholas Baker, 45-year-old James Preston Lynch, and 33-year-old Curtis Wayne Brown were each arrested in connection to ring.

"The forgeries include checks and information taken from individuals, as well as some stolen from Redland Water Supply Corporation" the release said.

A range of charges against the five include forgery, engaging in organized criminal activity and forgery against elderly victims.  The release names Detective Ernesto Ramos as filing the majority of the cases which led to the arrests.

The investigation into the forgery ring is ongoing.
