CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - A Houston man accused of taking part in a bank robbery in Lovelady in December has been booked into the Houston County Jail.
Allus Bernard Hubbard Jr., 27, is first-degree aggravated robbery. His bond is set at $1 million.
Hubbard has been in the hospital since Dec. 17. Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said he bailed out of a vehicle with two other men when they were caught on State Highway 19. While the other two got away, Hubbard collapsed and was taken into custody.
Houston County authorities say Hubbard and two other men robbed the Lovelady State Bank on Dec. 17 before heading south on Highway 19.
A deputy with the Trinity County Sheriff's Office caught up to them and they bailed out of the car, holding handguns. The deputy fired his gun at them and that is when Hubbard collapsed.
The other two are believed to have switched to a dark maroon car. Wallace believes these men were also involved in a Trinity bank robbery in October.
Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers identified the other two as Alonzo Irving, 27, and Demetrius Wheeler, 25.
