LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin police arrested a man who is accused of trying to get an officer to run a red light early Wednesday.
According to the police report, Edward Taylor, 22, was walking across the intersection of Atkinson Drive and East Laurel Avenue at 3:57 a.m. when he tried to wave an officer through a red light.
The officer pointed at the red light and shook his head, but Taylor continued to motion for the officer to go, according to the report.
The officer then stopped to check on Taylor and reported Taylor smelled of alcohol.
After Taylor failed a sobriety test, the officer arrested him on a charge of public intoxication, according to the report.
