HOUSTON, TX (KTRE) - J.J. Watt is the winner of this year's Deacon Jones Award. It's an honor given out to the NFL leader in quarterback sacks.
The defensive end recorded a league-high 17.5 sacks. This is the second time Watt has led the NFL in sacks. In 2012 Watt recorded 20.5 sacks. He also had 29 tackles for loss and 50 quarterback hits this year.
Watt was also named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On Sunday Watt had a team-leading eight tackles, five of those were solo, with a single-game season-high three sacks, three tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, two passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Texans went on to win 30-6.
