Wreck shuts down lanes in front of Lufkin Living Center

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A two-vehicle wreck left two people injured and temporarily shut down northbound lanes on US 69 north of Lufkin in front of the State Supported Living Center Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the preliminary accident report indicates that a 2012 Chrysler passenger driven by Gail Harris, 63, of Nacogdoches, failed to yield right of way from the Poll's Pick-it-Up parking lot and was struck by a southbound 2006 Ford pickup driven b Edward West, 83, of Wells.

Both people were transported to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for possible treatment.

Some lanes of Highway 69 were shut down while emergency crews cleared the roadway. The accident is still under investigation.
