NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office arrested a pair of Little Rock, Arkansas, residents on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on US Highway 59 Monday night.

Deputies seized 6 ounces of ecstasy and 30 grams of cocaine as a result of the arrest, according to a press release.

Alex Tarance Deqcria Carter, 40, and Tomesha Junese Singleton, 39, are both still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. Each person was charged with two counts of second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance. Collectively, each suspect’s bail was set at $100,000.

According to the press release, NCSO deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 59 north of Nacogdoches for a seatbelt violation at about 9 p.m. Monday.

“Both occupants in the vehicle were very nervous, and deputies could see narcotics in plain view in the back seat of the vehicle,” the press release stated. “A search of the vehicle was conducted by deputies that led to the seizure of 6 ounces of ecstasy and 30 grams of cocaine.

Both suspects were arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
