HUDSON, TX (KTRE) -

After a fire destroyed a family’s home in Hudson, on Dec. 31, 2015, a friend of one of the people affected by the fire reached out to Mike Vallely and convinced the professional skateboarder to replace the autographed skateboard his friend lost in the fire.

“I would like to thank Jason White for reaching out to Mike Valleley after learning my deck went down in flames during my parents’ house fire,” Yino Solis said in a Facebook post. “Mike Vallely listened, understood, and kindly sent me a replacement deck not only to replace but to heal. Thank you both and stand strong.”

According to a screen grab included with photo of Yino Solis’ new custom-made skateboard, his best friend of 30 years contacted Vallely and let him know that one of Yino Solis’ most prized possessions was signed skateboard he got when he met Vallely at the Texas Skate Jam and that it had been destroyed in the fire.

In the comment thread, Vallely wrote, “Tell Yino my girls and I are sending positive vibes!

Yino Solis’ parents lost everything in the fire at their home on Cripple Creek Road on New Year’s Eve. Local churches have collaborated to start a donation drive for the family.
