Houston Co. Sheriff offering active shooter training to churches

The Houston County Sheriff's Office will be offering an active shooter seminar for churches.

The seminar will cover plans churches can follow that will keep them safe if a shooting does occur. The seminar will also address what churches are allowed to do when it comes to open carry.

The seminar is being hosted by Pastor Dennis Ivey and Harvest Church. The event will take place on Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. The seminar is free and will take around 2 hours. A love offering will be taken up to cover expenses. Anyone wanting to participate is asked to call the Houston County Sheriff's (936) 544-2862.
