Willie Jefferson may be a name that sounds familiar but it's one you haven't heard in a while.
He was the former Stephen F. Austin standout who got cut from the Houston Texans as a rookie, after getting caught smoking marijuana at the team's hotel.
Two years later Jefferson is getting another shot at the NFL.
The former Lumberjack has been playing in the Canadian Football League for the past two years. Jefferson has apparently played well enough to catch the eye of the Washington Redskins.
The franchise has signed the outside linebacker to a reserve/ future contract, which means Washington has claimed the rights to Jefferson and he can't sign with any other team. However, Jefferson can be released at any time.
Jefferson will train with the Redskins this upcoming offseason/preseason and get a chance at making the 53-man roster.
