NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 35-year-old woman on a possession of a controlled substance after she and three other woman were allegedly caught shoplifting at Walmart Sunday afternoon.
Elodia Avila, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a state-jail felony possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram charge and a Class A misdemeanor theft less than $100 with a previous conviction charge. No bail amounts have been set for her charges.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department's daily activity report, the incident occurred at about 3:29 p.m. Sunday. After three women were allegedly spotted shoplifting at the Nacogdoches Walmart, store security took them into custody.
When NPD officers arrived on the scene, a search of Avila revealed that she was in possession of a controlled substance, the report stated.
Avila was arrested at the scene and taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
