Shelby Co. Sheriff's Office: Man killed in shooting incident on FM 417

SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred on FM 417 Tuesday night.

According to a press release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Willis Blackwell, SCSO, and Center Police officers deputies responded to a 911 call about a shooting incident at about 6:13 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived on the scene, they found that a man named Joshua Kellum had been shot in an altercation, the press release. Kellum was transported by ACE EMS to the Nacogdoches Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The other person involved in the altercation also received injuries and was treated at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

No arrests have been made at this time.
