SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) - If you like being outside and getting your hands dirty, then you'll want to sign up to be a master gardener.
The San Augustine Master Garden Club is hosting a sign-up Thursday night.
The club is currently working on a project outside of the San Augustine Elementary school.It will be a demonstration garden that will help students learn how to plant fruit and vegetables, as well as how to maintain a garden.
"Master gardening is something anybody can do, at any age," said Mike Malone, the president of San Augustine Master Gardener's Club. "People that enjoy gardening like to learn, that's just one reason I wanted to start the San Augustine Master Gardening."
To be eligible as a master gardener you must have 50 hours of training.
If you're interested in signing up, they're meeting Thursday night starting at 5 p.m. at the San Augustine County Court house.
