AUSTIN, TX (KTRE) - The Texas Longhorns announced Tuesday that Vince Young will keep his job with the university, despite getting arrested on a charge for driving while intoxicated.
The incident happened late Sunday night, two miles from the campus. The 31-year-old later posted a $2,000 bond.
The arrest report stated Young idled at a green light for 10 seconds, failed to use a turn signal to change lanes, was swerving and had mumbled speech.
Young works for Texas to promote diversity and community engagement, and is responsible to keep strong ties with alumni while fundraising. The position pays him about $100,000 per year.
