CLEVELAND, OH- Former Angelina College Roadrunner Josh Tomlin is seeing some dollar signs.
The pitcher and the Cleveland Indians agreed to a $5.5 million, two-year contract. The deal could earn Tomlin more than $11 million in three seasons.
On January 15, the right hander agreed to a $2.25 million, one-year deal to avoid salary arbitration. The new deal adds $2.5 million to his salary for 2017.
Tomlin can make an additional $2 million in performance bonuses starting next year.
The 31-year-old returned from shoulder surgery last year and managed to go 7-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 10 starts. Tomlin was seen as one of the better pitchers in the American League in September during the Indians playoff run.
