Lufkin PD: Man stole cousin's car after radio argument, urinated in front of officers

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 25-year-old Houston man after he and his cousin got into an argument over music on the radio and allegedly took his cousin's car without permission.

Deshune Williams is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a state-jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge and a misdemeanor driving with an invalid license charge. His bail amount was set at $500 for the misdemeanor charge, but no bail has been set for the car theft charge.

According to the narrative on the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, the alleged incident occurred in the 4500 block of Southwood Drive at about 3;11 p.m. Sunday.

The narrative stated that Williams and his cousin got into an argument because he was messing with his cousin's radio. The cousin told officers that after he pulled over to the side of the road, Williams chased him down the road, grabbed his keys, and then took off in his car, the report stated.

Williams told the LPD officers a slightly different story. He said he and his cousin disagreed over the radio, he returned to the car, and then left after he got tired of waiting for his cousin to come back.

While Williams was talking to the officers, he turned away from them and began urinating on the side of the road. According to the police report, he will also be charged with indecent exposure, but that charge did appear on either of the Angelina County Jail Web sites.
