Education leaders around East Texas are paying close attention to what is happening at the state capitol in Austin. They are interested in the progress of the education reform bill.
Bobby Baker, the Diboll Independent School District superintendent, is among those who have been spending time in Austin tracking the legislation. The educators want to make sure teachers, and their students know what is going on when it comes to their school's future.
The hot topic is finance.
Baker said, "We are concerned for our kids and how we're going to come out of this. We all face some of the same issues for programs that have been paid for in the past and we don't have funding for them now."
