LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - AC News Service
The Lady Roadrunners of Angelina College are hoping to end a recent trend when the team hosts Tyler College on Wednesday.
In their past two games, the Lady 'Runners have turned the ball over 18 times (at San Jacinto College) and 21 times Saturday against Blinn College. Saturday's miscues were especially painful considering AC battled back from 14 points down to draw to within three points before eventually losing by five. Blinn converted those missed AC chances into 20 points in handing the Lady Roadrunners their second straight loss. In that game, Malachi McQueen scored 21 points and Caitlyn Lambert 13 to lead AC scorers.
When similar struggles arose back in November, AC's ladies rebounded to win eight of their next 11 games. The Lady Roadrunners will attempt to both bounce back and avenge an earlier loss to Tyler College when the Lady Apaches come calling Wednesday night. Tyler (19-4, 9-4) is tied for second in the Region XIV conference standings, while the Lady 'Runners still cling to the sixth-place spot at 14-10, 7-7.
Game time at Shands Gymnasium is 6 p.m. Live streaming is available at roadrunnerslive.com.
