The Hudson Hornets are hooping for a cure.
Both Hudson varsity basketball teams will be taking on Jasper Friday night. During the games the school will be taking donations and all the proceeds will go to The V Foundation.
The V Foundation was formed by ESPN and Jim Valvano in 1993 and is an organization geared to further cancer research.
Last year, Hudson raised right under $1,500 and this year they're shooting for $2,000.
"I know everyone here on the team, for both girls and boys programs, has someone in their life that's been affected by cancer," said Hudson girls head basketball coach Kirsten Hines. "It affects all of us and I think it's for a really important cause to hopefully find a cure for this horrible disease."
The Lady Hornets will take the court at their home gym first starting at 6:30 p.m. The boys game will follow right after.
