LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin police have arrested a Hillister woman accused of stealing more than $2,000 from her employer over the period of a couple weeks.
Shanequia Rochelle Barlow, 21, is charged with state-jail felony theft.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Home Depot employee told police that Barlow had rung up a high number of voids were taking place. The employee said he watched in-store surveillance video and caught her voiding sales receipts as refunds and taking the cash.
The employee said Barlow admitted to him that she had taken more than $4,000, but he could only account for $2,256.75 on video.
The employee said Barlow gave a written statement on the thefts.
The affidavit states the thefts occurred from June 8 to June 30.
Police obtained a warrant for her arrest on Aug. 20. She was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Thursday.
