WACO, TEXAS (KXXV) - McLennan County Sheriff's officials said they arrested 46 people, including a former Grapeland ISD coach, related to some form of prostitution or human trafficking during an undercover operation.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Sheriff Parnell McNamara said the month-long sting started on January 1st and is the fourth sting the department has done.

Detectives posed as underage prostitutes, adult prostitution and "Johns."

Forty-six people were arrested in the sting facing a total of 48 misdemeanor charges and 31 felony charges. Three individuals still have warrants out.

"Some of these individuals were meeting for intercourse with child prostitutes and others with adult prostitutes," said McNamara. "Some of these people are really warped and it just boggles your mind when you deal with people like that."

One woman, Rebecca Rios, has been arrested three times for prostitution, two of which were during this sting.

A semi-professional umpire from Round Rock, Alex Quiles, was arrested in the sting. Officials say he was working with a pimp in Killeen, transporting females.

"It's obviously the oldest profession," said Detective Joseph Scaramucci. "I think as long as there are people that are willing to pay for sex, there's going to be people who are willing to take money for sex. At that point, there's people that are going to be willing to exploit them and traffic them"

Officials also said that one of the suspects, Shane Tuck, is a high school coach with the Ranger Independent School District. Grapeland ISD Superintendent Greg Spivey confirmed that Tuck served as the head baseball coach and assistant football coach in the 213-2014 school year.

McNamara said he's been surprised by the increasing number of people they catch during each sting.

"I had no idea they would keep coming, but it seems like every sting more and more keep coming. To me that's a shocker," said McNamara.

According to McNamara, over the last 15 months, detectives made 138 arrests, with 106 felony charges and 96 misdemeanor charges.

The McLennan County Sheriff's office worked with Unbound, a local organization seeking to stop human trafficking, and the Department of Homeland Security for the latest sting.

McNamara said they're determined to keep catching those individuals.

"We're not going to stop. They need to understand that message. We're going to continue this," said McNamara.
