NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 54-year-old Garrison man Thursday on a state-jail felony criminal mischief charge in connection to allegations that he tampered with a Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative meter and stole electricity.

Bruce Lee Harper is still being held in the Nacogdoches Jail on a state-jail felony criminal mischief between $1,500 and $20,000 charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.

According to the arrest affidavit, NCSO deputies took a report of stolen electricity from Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative employees. During the investigation, deputies got a statement from a witness who claimed he or she saw Harper tamper with a meter belonging to the Deep Electric Cooperative to steal electric service.
