LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin's Shipley Do-nuts will soon have a new home at a nearby vacant business.

Assistant City Manager Steve Floyd confirmed the business will move right across the street from their current location to the red building that was home to Bryan's Smokehouse.

"I do not know when they will be in there, " Floyd said. "A few weeks ago we approved the remodel permits for the business and now they are doing that part."

In 2013, the smokehouse was featured in an episode of Food Network's Restaurant Impossible. In the show, Chef Robert Irvine tries to save struggling restaurants from the brink of failure in just two days and only $10,000.

At the time of the production of the episode Irvine talked to KTRE about the project.

"I'm here to fix a family who has a lot of money, to the tune of $140,000 invested in this restaurant and its losing money and only making about $200 to $300 a day."
