As the Angelina College Roadrunner baseball team works toward establishing its pitching rotation, the team appears able to rest easy when it comes to the offense.

The 'Runners swept Cedar Valley on Friday, hammering the Suns 14-0 in the first game and taking the second game 6-5 in AC's home opener at Roadrunner Field.

In the opener, Mitchell Andrews drove in five runs that included a grand slam, Alex Walker hit a three-run shot and Jacob Finke added an opposite-field solo homer to back pitcher Elijah Rodriguez, who struck out five and walked no one over his five innings of work. Reid Garrett tossed scoreless baseball in his two innings of relief.

The Roadrunners capped the sweep with a 6-5 win in the nightcap.

AC will host Temple College on Sunday. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday but moved because of impending inclement weather.

Sunday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.
