Authorities: Trinity Co. subdivision treasurer admits to stealing $52K

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Trinity County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 77-year-old Trinity woman who authorities say confessed to stealing more than $52,000 from a property owner's association.

Mary Wall Montgomery is charged with third-degree theft.

According to a press release, Trinity County Subdivision, Lakewood at Livingston property owners association board members reported on Jan. 27 that Montgomery had stolen $52,396.34 from the account over a period of seven years. Montgomery was the treasurer of the association.

Montgomery gave a full confession and said she acted alone, according to the press release.

Montgomery turned herself in on the charge on Friday.
