SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) - A new four-way intersection in San Augustine at State Highway 96 and SH 21 has replaced an outdated traffic circle.
Community leaders gathered for its dedication Wednesday afternoon.
The newly designed intersection increases ease of access.
"It's safer. It's more inviting. It's clean," said San Augustine County Judge Sammye Johnson. "It's more open. It's easy to transfer. It's exceptional in every way. We are so fortunate"
"Keeping the traveling public going and keeping them from being impeded, I would say that was the biggest challenge here," said Kyle Drewery, the vice president of Drewery Construction.
The total cost was $3 million.
