National Signing Day may have been last week, but it's carried over onto Wednesday for Huntington's Jeremiah Robertson.
The running back will be headed to East Texas Baptist University in the fall.
Robertson was a key contributor in making program history in Huntington. Last season he rushed for 2,005 yards and finished with 23 touchdowns.
Robertson is a three-time all-district selection, and this past season was named Co-MVP of the district and second team all-state.
“It's a big relief finally knowing where I'm going the next four years. I'm ready to take on the journey,” said Robertson. “When I went on my visit, I felt at home. All the coaches knew who I was. I feel like I needed to be at ETBU. I just want to keep representing. We had a great season this past season, not in the wins column, but we still grew as a team. I’ve seen Huntington get better and that's all that matters.”
“He's just been a leader on and off the field. When times are tough we look at Jeremiah and he's still going and working hard. He has a never-quit attitude. He's going to be missed but he's left a legacy here,” said Huntington head football coach Brian Gandy.
Robertson said he plans on studying kinesiology at ETBU.
