LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Big Thicket Brewery is hosting the perfect event for you all to kick off your Valentine's day festivities with.

You can join painting instructors there on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. for "Valentine's Painting and Pints." Couples, singles, and groups are invited to paint a portrait while enjoying a pint of beer. It's open to those thirteen and up. They'll even serve their signature root beer to those who don't drink.

"Lots of guys come, and they get to have their beer while they come and paint with their wife. Everyone is happy!" said Cory Head, Painting Instructor.

There won't be any walk-ins, but you can pre-register and pay by five p.m. Friday. You may click here to register.

The Community Food Drive in Lufkin is special to some because of the large amount of people it brings together from all walks of life.  "It's just like so many different people, very diverse," said volunteer, Priscilla Gonzalez. "It's just kind of cool to see all these people coming together to do one thing."
