LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Texas A&M Extension office will be hosting an informative seminar on growing fruit at home this coming Monday.
The seminar will start at 6:30 p.m. and has a cost of $10. On the agenda will be information on growing common fruits such as apples, peaches, and pears as well as a new trending item; olives. The topic of weather will also be discussed.
"In East Texas, we are known for our hot drought summers and mild wet winters. There's lots of variability in those patterns, so we need to choose things that work well in our part of the world," said Cary Sims, an agriculture extension agent.
